Anam Cara, Gaelic for “soul friend”, began as the collaboration of two self-taught photographers/mothers who realized how quickly the halcyon days of childhood pass. With the idea of creating pictures that capture the joy of a child at play or the pure innocence of a tiny, new life in deepest slumber, a fresh perspective was created through a camera lens by capturing images of life in motion.
Based in historic Chestertown on the beautiful Eastern shore of Maryland, photo sessions take place in the comfort of your own home, on-location or at one of the many beautiful locals in the surrounding area. Icreate candid, genuine portraits by utilizing available natural light. There are no intrusive flashes to startle a newborn babe or tireless efforts to place a squirming toddler under bright lights.
